What is u3a?
Founded in 1982, u3a is a UK-wide movement with over 1000 locally-run groups in the UK that provide a wide range of opportunities to come together to learn and share activities. The Caves group was founded in 2005. Members explore new ideas, skills and activities together. Membership is open to everyone who’s no longer in full-time work.
We have interest groups on a variety of topics and are always happy to have new ideas put forward. Everything is run by our members, sharing their knowledge and experience. We also have a monthly general meeting at Cave Castle, with a speaker.

Our annual subscription is £15 per person. Our membership year runs from 1st April but if you join from 1st January onwards your membership will run until the end of March the following year. If you are already a full member of another u3a and intend to maintain this through the year we can offer you a reduced fee of £11. Please contact the Membership Secretary with details if you wish to do this.
Gift Aid
If you are a UK taxpayer we would be glad if would sign the Gift Aid declaration so that we can reclaim tax on your subscription. If you are joining as a couple living at the same address and only one of you is a taxpayer, we are able to claim Gift Aid on the subscriptions for both of you if payment for both of you is made by the one who is the taxpayer.
